beauty in the imperfections

These gold-rimmed cups are an absolutely beautiful find by the folks at Anthology. I love the delicate look of the gilding against the smooth ceramic, the mix of pale blush mixed with smoky colors, and how each is left to finish in its own way. The Thailand-based studio who designed them, Studiomake, aptly named the collection “flawed.” I thought about the wedding that would emerge from this design concept–clean and flecked with gold, yet soft and natural enough to see and embrace the imperfections.
