Do the samples on your site represent all of your work?
No. This is just a small sampling. To see more, please make an appointment with one of our designers at our studio. 617.242.8228, email: info@smudgeink.com, or fill out our custom order form.

What are my design options?
You may either choose to use an existing design as seen on our website or in our studio or work with us to create a custom design. If you choose an existing design, you may change most everything except for the layout of the design itself. The ink colors, the fonts, the paper type, the envelope type, etc. can all be changed.

What is the turn-around time for custom work?
Once the final proof is signed, it takes approximately 2 to 3 weeks to print the job. Please note, design time is different for each project and varies by customer depending on the design and the back-and-forth communication.

Here is a general idea of how long it typically takes to design the following pieces. There are always exceptions to these estimates and, within reason, we can usually cater to your timeline as needed.

Wedding invitations: 2 months
Save-the-date cards: 4-6 weeks
Baby announcements: 2-3 weeks
Social stationery: 2-3 weeks

Is an appointment recommended to discuss custom work?
Yes. We can meet either in person or by phone.
For wedding invitations & save-the-date cards, if you’re local to the Boston area, we recommend coming into our studio for a meeting. We are open during normal business hours and stay into the evenings for wedding meetings. If possible, please bring samples/swatches to help communicate your vision. Otherwise, no problem – we’ll help you with your vision.

For baby announcements & social stationery, usually a phone consultation is adequate.

Is there free parking at Smudge Ink if I come for an appointment?
