With everything that is involved in planning a wedding, we are here to make sure that choosing your wedding stationery is an easy (and fun!) process. Below we talk about the general steps so you get an idea of what it is like to work with us.
Get to Know One Another
First and foremost, enjoy browsing through our online collection of letterpress wedding designs. If you like what you see, then email or call us to request samples of your favorites. Our samples are free of charge as we believe there is nothing more important than seeing and feeling the paper, ink colors, and printing firsthand when choosing your stationery.
In addition to sharing our work, we would like to get to know you and learn more about your wedding. We can easily chat by phone or if you reside in the Boston area we would be delighted to schedule an in-person meeting at our studio. During this meeting, we can go over the design and printing process, budget, and timeline and other FAQs.
If you don’t see exactly what you are looking for in our wedding collection, be sure to tell us what you have in mind. We often work with couples to create a wedding suite from scratch and would love to discuss ideas for a custom project. The process is similar to what is described here but additional design time is required to create completely new concepts. Please send us an inquiry on our custom projects page so that we can better understand your needs.
Customize to Your Liking
All of our designs can be fully adapted to reflect your personal style with your choice of ink colors, paper, fonts, and more as detailed on our customization page. We are here to lend advice on what will achieve your vision and desired aesthetic. Once we know the design direction, we will mock up an initial proof of your invitation or save the date with your wording and customization preferences.
We will also provide you a personalized price quote based on all of the printed pieces and quantities you will need.
Place Your Order
If you are interested in moving forward with an order, we will send you a customer agreement and order invoice for you to review. The signed agreement and a 50% deposit are due before we begin designing all of the pieces you are ordering.
During this time, we will also request that you send us your final invitation wording. To help get you started, we provide some guidance on our etiquette and wording page. Of course, don’t hesitate to ask us for help!
Review and Approve Your Order
A proof of will be emailed (as a color PDF file) to you within 5 business days. We ask you to review the proof with sharp eyes and take the time to carefully check every detail. You can email us any changes that need to be made. Three rounds of revisions are included in your order (and we assure you it’s rare that we need to exceed this!). Additional rounds are $30 and may start to delay the process.
By giving us your final approval, you grant us permission to print your order as shown exactly in the proof. The approved proof is what is used to produce the physical printing plates. Therefore, no edits are possible beyond this point. Expect to receive many reminders from us to proofread carefully!
Your Order Gets Printed
Once we have your approval to print, the rest of the work is in our hands. It takes us 15-20 business days from time of proof approval to print your order. During this time, your plates are ordered and our pressroom will handle hand mixing the inks, setting up one our vintage presses, as well as feeding and checking each piece as it come off the press. When all of the pieces are printed, we then double check, trim, count, and carefully assemble your order so that everything is safely packaged.
We will ship your order or have it ready for pick up once the remaining balance (plus shipping charges and sales tax, if applicable) has been paid in full. Pretty soon your beautiful letterpress-printed invitations or save the dates will be landing at your door step! Be prepared to fall in love.
