Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Holiday Sip & Shop on November 5th! The Smudge Ink studio was abuzz with activity on the day of the event. Hours before our guests arrived, we were busy rearranging and redecorating. Clayton expertly drew the logos for Idle Hands Craft Ales, Goodtime Stringband and the Sip & Shop hashtag on our brand new blackboard (on which we now play Hangman on Wednesdays), while Kate, Deb and Sabrina worked on sprucing up our walls. By 5 pm, the studio was filled with tables covered with Smudge Ink stationery, floral arrangements, handmade ceramics, and plenty of olives and chocolate truffles. We were all set for fun evening. Goodtime Stringband’s bluegrass tunes had everyone bopping as guests browsed the booths of our friends at ElizabethBenotti Ceramics, Salt Cellar Shop, Wild Folk Studio, 2 Fresh Threads, EHChocolatier,Northlight Baking Co, Idle Hands Craft Ales, Whole Foods Charlestown, and Boston Organics.
Margaret and Emily’s letterpress demonstration on the Vandercook, affectionately nicknamed “Cookie,” drew a lot of curious guests of all ages. Everyone who tried their hand at letterpress printing got to keep their very own “Greetings from Boston” postcard featuring a design of Boston’s skyline with a silver and red palette. Some of our tinier attendees insisted on printing multiple postcards for their mom AND dad.
The evening was a great success and we had a blast sipping, snacking and shopping the night away. Sarah Jayne Photography took beautiful photos of the event so be sure to visit the Smudge Ink Facebook page and view the full photo album. All in all, we’ve had a wonderful start to our holiday season!
